In a landmark night for African football, Malawi staged one of the greatest upsets in Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) history by defeating 10-time reigning champion Nigeria 3-2. Making their debut in the competition, the Malawian side, ranked No. 153 globally, overcame a Nigerian squad ranked No. 36.
