TSMC Sales Jump 36% as SK Hynix Makes Historic $26B US Debut

TSMC Sales Jump 36% as SK Hynix Makes Historic $26B US Debut

TSMC reports a 36% sales surge while SK Hynix debuts in the US with a $26.5 billion offering, highlighting the growth of the Asian chip supply chain.

Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. (TSMC) reported a stellar 36% jump in quarterly sales, a result that underscores the sustained ferocity of the global AI race. As the world's primary foundry for Nvidia and Apple, TSMC's results are increasingly viewed as the ultimate barometer for global technology demand. The sales surge met even the most elevated expectations, confirming that hyperscalers like Amazon, Meta, and Microsoft are showing no signs of slowing their multi-billion dollar semiconductor orders.

In a related move, South Korea’s SK Hynix has made history with a record $26.5 billion US debut. The memory chipmaker, which has become a 'pure-play' favorite for investors due to its leadership in High Bandwidth Memory (HBM) required for AI processors, saw its ADRs jump significantly following the offering. This listing marks a pivotal moment for Asian tech firms seeking deeper liquidity in US markets.

The dominance of these two firms highlights the geographical concentration of the AI supply chain. With TSMC handling fabrication and SK Hynix providing the essential memory components, the AI boom is effectively being powered by a narrow group of East Asian titans, even as US-based hyperscalers drive the capital expenditure.
